The MiraCosta Athletic department would like to extend a most enthusiastic congratulations to freshmen women's basketball player Ayli Tulberg for earning MiraCosta College's most prestigious academic award, the Medal of Honor.
In their 2017 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference - North Division opener, all nine Spartans in uniform entered the scoring column and five scored in double figures as the MiraCosta College women's basketball team cruised to an impressive 82-45 win over College of the Desert.
The Spartans led by as many as 11 in the second half and a had a chance to win the game on the final shot of the night, but in the end the MiraCosta College women's basketball team came up just short in a 72-71 defeat at the hands of Southwestern College.
After a huge win the night before and playing their third game of the week, the MiraCosta Spartans came up two points short when the buzzer sounded on Saturday against Mesa College.
It was their third game in as many days but the Spartans proved that fitness wasn't an issue as they played their best basketball of the year in a 75-50 win over Victor Valley College.
