On Saturday afternoon the women's basketball team at MiraCosta College won their fourth consecutive game in a 64-62 final.  Late in the game Harbor College had more than a few chances to win but the disciplined Spartan defense denied all efforts to score.

MiraCosta was led in scoring by Ayli Tulberg with 15 points.  Colleen Murphy (11 points), Camille Blaye cook (11 points) and Danielle Bosley (10 points) all made strong contributions in the win as well.  Teya Searles (9 points) scored all of her points in the first half but continued her strong rebounding and ball handling through the entire game.

Center Bethany Duvall continues to improve giving Murphy valuable rest time.  Duvall, who stands at 6-1, has scored a basket in each of her last two games and presents the opposing offense with a defensive presence down low.

The Spartans improve to 5-7 overall with one final non-conference game before starting the cross-over portion of the PCAC conference schedule.  MiraCosta will play at Moorpark College on Wednesday, January 4th at 3pm.
