High Powered Offense Paces Spartans to Win

The MiraCosta men's soccer team has suffered some key injuries in the past few weeks however they continue to progress each time they take the field. On Friday against the College of the Desert the Spartans displayed a potent attack on the field and finished with a 4-0 victory.  The first goal was scored in the first minute of the game by Johnthan Palacios, assisted by Julio Sanchez. Cheyne Hausmaninger added two goals, in the seventh and forty first minute and the final goal was scored by Guilherme Borges Guimares.  Eddie Franco made his impact on the outcome by assisting on three goals.

The Spartan defense earned a shut out, anchored by Ricardo Gonzalez, Raul Guzman and Joseph Kicko. Goal keepers Oscar Sowell and Luis Briseno split time evenly in the match.

Coach Frank Zimmerman prepares his team for their final week of conference play, currently just three points out of first place.  The Spartans will take on San Bernardino Valley College and cross-town rival Palomar College, both on the road.
