MiraCosta made the long trek out to El Centro California to confirm their position in the top tier of the conference standings.  The Spartans are one of five teams that, with four games to play, have an opportunity to claim a conference championship. On Friday they made it clear that they meant business with a 5-0 win over Imperial Valley College.

Goals were scored by Hirouki Yabiku (23rd minute), Raul Guzman (28th minute), Johnathan Palacios (52nd minute), Luis Mendoza (59th minute), and Chene Hausmaninger (69th minute). Goalkeepers Oscar Sowell (one save) and Luis Briseno split time in the win.
