Women's Volleyball Survives at MSJC And The Win Streak Continues

On Friday the MiraCosta women's volleyball team travelled to Mt. San Jacinto College for a showdown between the first and second place teams in conference.  The match lived up to expectations, going five games and coming down to the very end. After the grueling five game match, the Spartans survived and extended their win streak to 14 games with a 3-2 win over the Eagles. The final scores of the games were 25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 22-25, and 15-12. 

Halie Hess led the way with 17 kills but got support from Shannon Evans (15) and Hayley Torres (14).  Kacy Hele orchestrated the attack finishing with 52 assists and 15 digs.

Libero Hanley Lomax added 28 digs and four assists.

With the win the Spartans remain undefeated in conference play and improve to 18-2 overall.  MiraCosta, now ranked #12 in the state, will take on Palomar College on Wednesday in a road game and will return home on Friday November 2nd for the last PCAC North conference game before playing the North/South crossover games.
