Spartans Outlast Knights In the Heat

After a long 90 minute battle in 100 degree heat the Spartans walked away with a 1-0 win over the San Diego City Knights.  The lone goal was scored in the 25th minute by freshman Isabella Rivera. 

After the goal the Knights had an opportunity to score on a free kick in the 65th minute but was saved by goalie Bailee Bolt.  Later in the second half Erica Gravalec had consecutive shots on goal (77th and 85th minute) putting further pressure on the Knights. 

After the whistle the Spartans improved to 9-6-1. The game marked the conclusion of the PCAC cross-conference games, MiraCosta will return to PCAC North play on Friday at Miramar College at 1pm.
