Sixth-Ranked Spartans Stay Hot With Three-Set Blowout

OCEANSIDE, Calif. - The MiraCosta College women's volleyball team continued its undefeated start to the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference - North Division season with an easy 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-14) decision over San Bernardino Valley College Wednesday night.

The Spartans, who are now ranked sixth in the California College Athletic Association and remain the lone unbeaten team in the PCAC - North, saw its record raise to 18-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference. San Bernardino (5-12 overall) remained winless in the conference at 0-4.

The MiraCosta offense, which put together a strong .390 kill percentage as a team, was paced by Makayla Sua with eight kills, Violeti Faleumu with seven kills and Madeleine Alper with six kills. Andrianna Visesio and Cady Delay split the setting duties with 19 and 16 assists, respectively. Defensively, Alper led with six digs while Claudia Mathews chipped in with two blocks.

Next up, the Spartans head to neighboring San Marcos, California, to battle rival Palomar College in more PCAC - North action on Friday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m.
