Tonight, MiraCosta honored the first Sophomore Volleyball class in over 20 years and the Sophomores helped MiraCosta continue their winning ways by coming away with a four-set victory. Sophomore Jessica Zieg led the way, she distributed her way to 43 assists, added an ace, 8 digs, and 2 blocks. Brianna Sizemore continued her recent dominance, she led all attackers with 18 kills and attacked at a .533 efficiency and added 10 digs. Nicole Alderman chipped in 8 kills, Sophomore Breanna Kirklen added 5 kills, and Madie Sims added 3 kills and 3 blocks. 

Freshman Cady Francis had one of her best performances of the season, she had 16 kills with a .636 hitting percentage, 10 digs, and 6 aces. Sophomore Kyra Henderson brought energy and leadership to the backcourt and added 3 digs. 

Despite a second set lapse, the Spartans controlled most of the match, they started strong in each of the sets they won and held the lead throughout the entirety of the sets. The Spartans finished up conference play with an overall record of 17-4, and a 12-4 record in the conference. 

Post-match, MiraCosta held a ceremony to honor the sophomore class which includes Brianna Sizemore, Breanna Kirklen, Shaina Lilly, Madeline Sims, Nicole Alderman, Caitlan Byers, Kyra Henderson, and Jessica Zieg.
