Spartans Ranked 8th In Most Recent State Ranking

The women's soccer team.

To say the MiraCosta women's soccer team has started strong would be an understatement.  The talented Spartan roster features experienced sophomore leaders as well as dynamic freshman contributors.  The team is currently 10-1-1 and is undefeated in conference play. The team begins the second half of the conference play on Friday October 13th.

In 12 total games, MiraCosta has scored 59 goals and has only allowed seven.  In conference matches, the numbers are even more staggering. The team's record is 6-0-1, having scored 49 goals and conceding only two.

The defensive effort has been stellar thus far, anchored by goalkeeper Arely Sarabia and center back, Aleah Minnich.  Sarabia is in the top 30 in the state, with just seven goals allowed. MiraCosta's depth is quite possibly it's greatest attribute.  The Spartans start strong, and when the make substitutions, bring strong players off the bench.

The team has a plethora of offensive weapons, which has made them nearly impossible to stop.  Lena Bachman is currently leading with 25 points (11 goals and three assists.) 11 goals places Bachman 11th in the state statistical reports. It is also notable that Jazmyne Aripse is currently second in the state with 12 assists.

25 - Lena Bachman

24 - Jazmyne Arispe

20 - Roselyn Hernandez

19 - Aleah Minnich

11 - Araceli Mejia

9 - Jordan Fawcett

The Spartans have seven conference games remaining, and also will play a non-conference match against Chaffey College on November 9th.  Chaffey is currently ranked #2 in the state, making for a much anticipated final game of the regular season before the CCCAA state playoffs begin.
