MIRACOSTA CONTINUES TO ROLL, STAYS UNDEFEATED IN CONFERENCE

The Spartans were striving to keep their undefeated streak and showed up big, beating Imperial Valley, 13-0. MiraCosta was ready right from the first whistle, with Lena Bachman scoring in the fourth minute with a powerful cross from Julisa Pena on the wide left. Only four minutes later the Spartans struck again with a cross from Araceli Mejia and a beautiful header from Lena Bachman. Not long after, sophomore centerback Aleah Minnich, started her race to a hat trick scoring two goals in the first half and finishing the hat trick in the second half. Elisa Dunn was hungry for a goal, drove into the box on the left side sliding the ball into the bottom right corner. Julisa Pena wanted more after her assist, so she went on to score a magnificent goal, shooting outside the 18 yd box with elite power. Bachman ended the half with a hat trick earning her player of the match last night. 

 The Spartans walked into the second half with a 6-0 lead but they were not finished, determined to continue their domination scoring seven more goals. Imperial Valley only entered the Spartans half twice in the final 45 minutes. Keeping elite pressure with Spartan's 2s and 3s pressuring the back line resulting in two goals from outside back Araceli Mejia and assists from Marolyn Clark and Kailey Lane. Eli Mora is back from ACL injury only her third game back yet already making a difference earning an assist with a driven ball on the ground splitting the defense allowing her outside back to drive into the box and score. Raigan Jager returned from an injury, coming into the game, assisting forward Roselyn Hernandez in another goal for the Spartans. Additionally, Jordan Fawcett earned her second collegiate goal this year. To end it all Lissette Bahena finishes the game with one last goal. 

The Spartans are next in action on Friday 29th, home vs Palomar.
