SPARTANS SCORE FOUR, BEAT LASERS

After a hot start from Jazmyne Arispe, the MiraCosta women's soccer team finished the Lasers from Irvine Valley, by a final score of 4-2. Arispe, a freshman midfielder for the Spartans, scored two goals in the first thirty minutes of the match to set the tone early.  The first goal was assisted by freshman forward, Lena Bachman. The second goal was assisted by sophomore captain, Aleah Minnich.

Just before halftime, the Lasers scored a goal to make the score 2-1, advantage MiraCosta, heading into the break.

In the second half, the Spartans brought the energy again, scoring two goals to make the score 4-1.  The Spartans' third goal was in the sixtyth minute when Roselyn Hernandez scored from an assist from Aleah Minnich and Jordan Fawcett.  The fourth goal for MiraCosta was scored by freshman Ashley Reyes, assisted by Lena Bachman.

MiraCosta dominated the game with twenty shots on goal, compared to Irvine Valley's six.  

Arely Sarabia played all ninety minutes in goal and finished with two saves.

With the win, MiraCosta improves to 4-1 and heads into conference with confidence high.  Their next match is Tuesday, September 12th, at home at 4:00 pm.
