The MiraCosta Spartans beat the San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) Wolverines 2-0 on September 1st at MiraCosta. As the game started, the two teams seemed evenly matched. However, MiraCosta went on to dominate possession of the ball through the ninety minute game.
As the game proceeded, MiraCosta warmed up and their passing improved. In the 25th minute, Lena Bachman scored a goal assisted by Marolyn Clark.
After halftime, the Spartans had more possessions shot attempts than the Wolverines. Fifteen minutes before the game ended, Raigan Jager scored the second goal of the game, with an assist from Jazmyne Arispe) The Spartan defense, led by Aleah Minnich, Araceli Mejia, Jordan Fawcett and Marolyn Clark held the Wolerines scoreless. The Spartan's goalie Arely Sarabia was credited with six saves and played all ninety minutes.
