Women's Soccer Finishes Week Undefeated

The MiraCosta women's soccer team had a good week, finishing with an 8-0 win against San Diego City College and a 2-2 draw against the conference leading Southwestern College Jaguars.  After the big week the Spartans improve their conference record to 8-1-1, one game out of first place in the conference standings.

On Tuesday the Spartans traveled to Southwestern and had a lead for the majority of the game.  MiraCosta's first goal came in the 10th minute to sophomore Mandy Lara.  After the Jaguars answered in the 22nd minute, Mak Arnone scored in the 25th minute from a Jordan Fawcett assist. The Spartans led 2-1 for almost 60 minutes but couldn't hold on, giving up the equalizing goal to Southwestern in the 88th minute.

In the second game of the week the Spartans were dominant, winning 8-0 over San Diego City.  MiraCosta goals were scored by Mandy Lara (5th minute), Madisyn Roney (15th), Kailey Lane (35th and 42nd), Allison Benson (55th), Lara (65th), Eleanor Asfour (75th) and Mak Arnone (85th).

Tristyn Wright played all 90 minutes in both games, finishing with the shutout against City.
