Spartans Battle But Come Up Short In State Playoffs

In the first round of the CCCAA State Playoffs MiraCosta and Antelope Valley played the first 90 minutes to an even 0-0 tie.  In the second overtime the Marauders from Antelope Valley scored in the 102nd minute to put an end to the match and to the Spartans' season.

MiraCosta ends their season 12-8-2 record. Sophomore Jenna Heatherly led the Spartans with 23 points on the season (nine goals and five assists.) Isabella Rivera finished the season with 18 points (six goals and six assists). Nicole Marcynyszyn and Alina Ozuna finished with 12 and 10 points respectively.  Bailee Bolt and Precious Garcia split time in the goal throughout the year totalling nine shutouts in the season.
