Defense Makes the Difference For Spartans

All year long the MiraCosta women's basketball team has competed with great effort defensively,and tonight was no different.  The Spartans held San Bernardino to just 25 second half points and pulled away to win by a final score of 65-59.  The Spartans were led by freshman Tervetta McGee with a dominant 20 point and 13 rebound performance.   Colleen Murphy also had a strong game with 15 points and eight rebounds.  Britney Jarvis added 15 points on four made three-point shots and three free throws. 

MiraCosta celebrated their sophomores before the game, honoring the hard work they have given in the last two years.  Sophomores include Colleen Murphy, Teya Searles, Aracely Hernandez-Garcia, and Breanna Morales.

With the win the Spartans improve to 16-7 and will travel to Imperial Valley College for their next conference game on Wednesday, February 14th.
