Women's Basketball Team Picture

In their first game of the season the MiraCosta women's basketball team fought hard but came up short in the end.  The Spartans dropped the game by a final score of 78-73 to Cerritos College, a team that received an honorable mention in the first state ranking.  MiraCosta led through three quarters but Cerritos outscored the Spartans 26-14 in the fourth and final quarter.

Britney Jarvis led the offensive attack for MiraCosta with 23 points and five made three point shots.  MiraCosta received strong contributions from Teya Searles (13 points and 12 rebounds) and Tervetta McGee (eight points and five rebounds.)

Despite forcing 34 Cerritos turnovers the Spartans unfortunately committed 44 turnovers in the early season game. MiraCosta shot an impressive 47% from behind the three point line including those made by Jarvis and Daisy Santiago (3-3).

The Spartans will next be in action on Friday November 10th at home at 6pm.
