FOURTH QUARTER EFFORT LIFTS SPARTANS OVER JAGUARS

Coming off two wins in last week's tournament the Spartans were riding a wave of momentum into tonight's game against the Southwestern Jaguars. After leading in the first quarter 24-20, the Spartans fell behind at the end of the first half and the end of the third quarter.  Despite trailing MiraCosta exploded for 41 points in the fourth quarter to take the lead and earn the victory.

The Spartans got big contributions from Teya Searles (21 points), Danielle Bosley (19 points) and Ayli Tulberg (18 points.) Colleen Murphy and Camille Blaye cook both added ten points.

The first quarter Searles set the pace scoring eleven of the team's 24.  In the fourth quarter the Spartans had great scoring and a few key defensive plays to secure the win. Tulberg, Blaye cook and Bosley stood out in the fourth quarter. As a team MiraCosta made 18 out of 21 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter, leading to their third win in a row.

MiraCosta will play LA Harbor on Saturday at home.  Tip off is at 3pm.
