The Spartan men's soccer team was on fire last night, extending their winning streak. The Spartans kept the pressure on the Imperial Valley's goalkeeper, finishing with 25 shots and earning a decisive 5-0 win. This victory has moved MiraCosta into second place in the conference standings, with a 2-1-1 record.

The Spartans were dynamic with their technical work yesterday evening, not only successfuly switching the field often, but also being diverse with their movements on and off the ball. Juan "Tato" Serrano was an impactful player in the conference match. Serrano was on a mission to make his mark, scoring a goal in the second half and being credited for two assists, setting up Alexis Aparicio and Luke Adomey

MiraCosta dominated time of possession and the ball was mostly on the Spartan's attacking side. Erick Cabrera scored his first collegiate goal off a penalty kick, placing the ball into the top right corner of the goal. Ronin Ross also scored. As he received a ball on the right side of the 18-yard box from Luke Adomey, Ross struck the ball into the back of the net.

The Spartans are on the road this Friday, but will be back home on Oct 17th at 4pm.
