The Spartan men had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Palomar. The Comets got the first goal off a free kick but the Spartans did not hesitate to equalize the game with a goal from Denzel Zepeda not more than two minutes after the Comets. 

In the second half MiraCosta had multiple chances to score but were not able to finish them.  

Sophomore goalkeeper Andrik Rodriguez played a strong 90 minutes as he anchored the defensive line of Jose Mondragon, Leo Ayala, John Rivera and Caleb Kawano. 

The forwards created a number of scoring opportunities. Notable efforts were made by Alexis Aparicio, Jesus Martinez, Rudy Padilla and Luke Adomey.

The Spartans are next in action on Friday at home versus Mesa College for a 4pm kickoff.
