BALANCED SCORING LEADS MIRACOSTA TO WIN OVER MT. SAN JACINTO

In the third game in as many days the MiraCosta men's basketball team had just enough to finish off the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (the #15 team in the state rankings.) The final score, 83-74, was indicative of another fast-paced game that showcased the Spartan's balance in scoring.  Brett Hollins (15) and Austin Bryant (15) led the way but three other players scored in the double digits, Billy Brown (14), Kenan Brooks (14) and Josh Pilling (10).

In earlier games the Spartans handled Long Beach City College (79-56) before falling to the state's top ranked team, Saddleback College.  In the game versus Long Beach City College MiraCosta's Daymarcco Green had an impressive showing with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.  Green, a sophomore transfer that prepped at Lakeside High School in Lake Elsinore, has been the primary ball handler for the Spartans all year.

Coming Up:

MiraCosta will host the first annual Clete Adelman Basketball Classic on January 3-5, 2017.  The eight team tournament will feature the #8 ranked team in the state, San Diego City College. Also in the bracket are Antelope Valley College (#14 in the South) and Miramar College (#15 in the South). Only one of the eight teams has a losing record which should make for some exciting basketball.
