In the opening round of the Bill Brummel Classic the MiraCosta Spartans ran away with a 82-59 win.  The Spartans beat the College of the Canyons Cougars behind tremendous efforts from Buddha Boyd (28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists) and Aashad Womack (18 points and 10 rebounds). 

MiraCosta, who led 44-29 at the half, was able to play all thirteen players.  All but one Spartan player scored.  MiraCosta improves to 6-4 on the year.

Tomorrow night the Spartans will face Saddleback College at 7pm.  The Gauchos enter the game with a 12-1 record.
