Silva Breaks Loose, Spartans Win Easy

Tuesday was a breakout game for sophomore forward George Silva.  After a solid previous week of performances earned him the PCAC athlete of the week, he then proceeded to score four goals on the road at Imperial Valley.  Beyond how impressive the flurry of scoring performance was, it is also notable that it was done in an important match that had conference championship implications.  

Silva scored two goals in the first half in the 20th and 30th minutes of the game.  After halftime he scored two more goals, In the 50th and 70th minutes.  Bobby Ehly scored the Spartans' fifth goal just before the end of the match in the 85 minute.

With the win, the MiraCosta men's soccer team improves to 8-0-1, and remain undefeated in conference play. They also have sole possession of first place in the conference standings with three games left to play. The Spartans are next in action on Friday at home when they host Southwestern College.  Kickoff is scheduled for 3PM.
