MiraCosta Scores Four Goals, Remain Unbeaten

The MiraCosta men's soccer team was on fire in the first half on Wednesday in their non-conference match against Orange Coast. The Spartans were clearly the more aggressive team and it showed when Jose Aguirre scored in the 13th minute off an assist from David Garcia.  MiraCosta scored their second goal in the 22nd minute when Juan Diaz scored a header off of Aguirre's corner kick.

Just seven minutes later, in the 29th minute, Rudy Padilla scored MiraCosta's third goal on a counter attack after Alex Romero passed him the ball. The final goal was scored by Bobby Ehly just before halftime on a free kick just outside of the box. 

Despite not scoring in the second half the Spartans continued to dominate the game.  MiraCosta kept possesion of the ball and finished with a total of 13 shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Jeshua Lombana played 70 minutes and then Andrik Rodriguez finished the match for MiraCosta. Shih-Kuan Yang and Juan Diaz anchored the Spartan defense, helping the team finish with a shutout.

With the win the Spartans remain unbeaten, with a record of 1-0-2, and will next be in action on Saturday taking on Rio Hondo College at 11AM at home.
