Spartan Beach Volleyball Returns

Beach volleyball players at the beach.

After their season was ended abuptly in 2019 and the 2020 season was cancelled, the MiraCosta College women's beach volleyball program is back.  The new look Spartans roster will only include a few sophomores and will have a new coach at the help.  Coach David Johnson was hired in May 2021 to lead the indoor and beach volleyball programs at MiraCosta College. After a successful indoor season he will lead his team in the sand with a roster made up of mostly new faces.

Returning for the Spartans are sophomores Savannah So'oto and Paola Peralta who played a handful of games in 2019 before having the season ended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The remainder of the roster is made up of freshman but should prove to be competitive with the top teams in the state.

The Spartans open their season with a scrimmage on January 28th and then will play their first official match on February 18th at Irvine Valley College.  MiraCosta's home matches will be played at Warm Waters Beach in Carlsbad, CA.
