In one of the most important games of the season the MiraCosta women's volleyball team showed up.  On Friday the Spartans traveled to Grossmont College to take on the ranked Griffins and after three sets had swept the conference leader.

MiraCosta got strong contributions from sophomores Madison Nichols and Savannah So'oto, both with 12 kills. Makayla Hicks (6 kills) and Aria Barker (5 kills) both added some timely offensive attachs for the Spartans. Libero Paola Peralta was tremendous with 16 digs. The setters split duty and both distributed the ball.  Summer Hoslett had 15 assists and Giulia Cefalu added eight.

The Spartans dominated the first two sets winning 25-16 and 25-19.  In the third set Grossmont competed but the Spartans had too much momentum and found a way to win 28-26.

MiraCosta is next in action on Wednesday at home against Miramar College at 6PM.
