Spartans Come Up Short Against #4 Moorpark

Moorpark scored first and lead the way during the first set. Mooprark was in sync for most of the game. They were loud with their cheers and chants trying to intimidate MiraCosta. MiraCosta started slow in the first two sets. Yet, Madison Nichols gave some impressive kills giving MiraCosta some scores on the board. Cameron Martinez and Makayla Hicks teamed up by blocking Moorpark's would be kill. However, at this point Moorpark was still leading with 9-6.  At 19 minutes into the game MiraCosta starts catching up. It's a nail biter at 24-23 with Moorpark looking to win the first set, and that's exactly what they get as MiraCosta serve the ball out of line.

Second set is a repeat of the first set. We see some great offense on MiraCosta's side, but Moorpark's defense is too strong for them to make an impact. In different occasions, Aliah Cortez and Paola Peralta beautifully block Moorpark from scoring giving MiraCosta a slight lead. But MiraCosta wasn't able to keep that lead as Moorpark scores to tie 14-14. Moorpark keeps catching up, and it's a constant tie between the two teams in this second set. At the end though Moorpark wins with a 25-23 score.

MiraCosta comes back strong on the third set. We see a completely different team as they seem more focused and organized. Savannah So'oto gives a strong kill. Moorpark is starting to stress as their coach calls for their first time out of this set at 20-18 with MiraCosta leading.

On the fourth set MiraCosta scores first the're still looking determne, and Moorpark is starting to slow down.
