The first time the Spartan women's volleyball team played Mesa College the Olympians left with the victory.  After retooling in practice and continuing to build momentum, the Spartans swept Mesa College 3-0 to improve to 16-5 overall and 10-3 in conference play.  MiraCosta is currently ranked #16 in the state and sits in #6 spot in the RPI for the southern section.

The Spartans looked like the dominant team on Friday led by the standout play of middle Leigha Malecha ending with eight kills hitting .583. Malecha also added four blocks and one service ace.  Setter Felicity So'oto led the Spartans with 18 assists and also added six digs. 

MiraCosta is next in action on Wednesday on the road at Grossmont.
