Spartans Remain Undefeated in Conference with Win Over Miramar

The MiraCosta Spartans continued their dominance in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) with a commanding 4-0 win against San Diego Miramar on October 15, 2024. With this victory, the Spartans improved their overall record to 10-3-1 and remain undefeated in conference play at 9-0-1, sharing the top spot in the standings with Southwestern College.

The Spartans came out strong in the first half, opening the scoring in the 24th minute when Raigan Jager found the back of the net with an unassisted strike. Just before halftime, MiraCosta doubled their lead when Jazmyne Arispe set up Heidi Alarcon to make it 2-0 at the 43rd minute.

In the second half, Alarcon added her second goal of the match in the 48th minute, with an assist from Charley Diaz. The Spartans sealed the victory in the final minute when Arispe scored her own goal, assisted by Joey Freas, bringing the score to 4-0.

MiraCosta's defense was impenetrable, with goalkeeper Arely Sarabia making seven saves to keep a clean sheet. San Diego Miramar managed just one shot on goal throughout the match, unable to break through the Spartans' backline.

With this result, MiraCosta stays tied for first place in the PCAC with Southwestern College, setting up a thrilling race for the conference title as the season nears its conclusion.
