On a 17 women roster that features 12 new players Coach Miguel Barragan had the early challenge of how to get everyone on the same page before their first game.  On Tuesday the Spartans travelled to El Camino College and had done enough work in the pre-season to earn a 1-0 victory to start the 2019 season. 

In the 11th minute sophomore Jordan Heatherly scored the first and only goal of the game, with the ball coming from Alyssa Ozuna. Sophomore goalkeeper Mia Bochis recorded the shutout with one save.  The Spartans demonstrated strong overall play showing great potential in their attack, controlling the middle and defending the goal.

MiraCosta will next be in action on Thursday at Santa Ana College.
