Coming into the game the Spartan women's soccer team had a big opportunity. With a win at home against conference leading San Bernardino Valley College MiraCosta would've been in a tie for first place. The Spartans did everything in the power and competed for 90 minutes with the Wolverines but a penalty kick for the visiting team would be in the only score in a 1-0 loss for MiraCosta.
With the result Spartans fall to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. MiraCosta currently holds third place with six games to play.
The Spartans are next in action on Tuesday October 3rd at 3:15pm at Mt. San Jacinto College's Menifee campus.
