Spartans Strike Again

Spartans Strike Again

On Friday the Spartans went to Jaguar territory, where they took on the Southwestern College men's soccer team. After 90 minutes, they earned a 4-1 victory, and were a step closer to their ultimate goal, a conference championship.

The Spartans played high level soccer, making their way out of tight spaces and tactically switching the field.  In the 38th minute MiraCosta scored its first goal, when Isaac Ramos played a ball for a simple volley by Jonathan Gomez. That was just the start for the Spartans. The second goal was scored by Juan Manuel Serrano in the 42 minute, assisted by Jesus Martinez.

After leading 2-0 at halftime, the Spartans kept attacking, with a beautiful goal in the 73rd minute by Isaac Ramos running full force for a one-touch shoot. The final goal for MiraCosta was in the 84th minute and was one to be remembered.  Goal keeper Jeshua Lombana assisted Rudy Padilla with a long goal kick. Padilla settled the ball with his chest allowing a singular bounce before sliding the ball into the left corner.

The final score was 4-1 after the full 90 minutes.

The Spartans hit the road again to continue to get business done Oct 17th, 3pm at San Diego City.
