On Friday the MiraCosta College men's soccer team hosted Norco College for a non-conference match. Both teams were in need of a win and competed with a sense of urgency.
The Spartans started strong and controlled the possession of the ball for much of the first half. Despite keeping the ball, however, MiraCosta only had a few true oppotunities to score. As both teams headed into halftime the score as tied at 0-0.
In the second half the Spartans maintained their composure and created some chances working through Jose Aguirre, Mahamad Shabaan, and George Silva. Sophomore Bryan Sahagun had a strong performance in the middle for MiraCosta. After 75 minutes of playing Norco even, the Spartans gave up a goal. Shortly after in the 83rd minute Norco scored again to take a 2-0 and a lock on the victory.
The Spartans will next be in action on Tuesday September 21 at LA City College for a 6PM kickoff.
