In what could be portrayed as a David vs. Goliath situation the MiraCosta men's rugby club team upended the UCLA Bruins by a final score of 21-18.  With the win the Spartans improve to 2-0 with both wins coming at the hands of D1 institutions. MiraCosta was led by veterans Jeremy Santiago and Gabriel Martinez.
