Spartans Extend Win Streak to Four

The men's basketball team at MiraCosta has found their rhythm and has won four games in a row to bring their overall record to 4-4.

In their first game of the week the Spartans travelled to Glendale College where they won a close game, 67-64.  Dylan Cabs led the way with 21 points five rebounds, while Donavan Freeman added 18 points and six rebounds.  Freshman guards, Davaughn McCrumb and John Hapgood, both brought notable contributions off the bench to help MiraCosta hold on for the win.

In their second game of the week the Spartans made the long trip to Victor Valley College.  In a high scoring first half MiraCosta took a one point lead into the locker rooms.  After some defensive adjustments, they held their opponents to 31 points in the second half to win the game, 86-76.  Donavan Freeman, Kobe Smith and JC Campbell all scored double digits for the Spartans. Eight MiraCosta players scored while shooting 47% from the floor.

After a strong week sophomore guard, Donavan Freeman, was name the Athlete of the Week for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.  

The Spartans return home for their first conference game of the season, hosting Imperial Valley College on Friday at 5pm.
