The MiraCosta men's basketball team played one of their two Monday conference games, as they hosted Cuyamaca College last night.  After a close first half, the Spartans pulled away and cruised to a 97-64 victory.  

MiraCosta continues to improve, with the many freshman on the roster playing significant minutes.  The return of Isaiah Lewis to the line up has also provide the Spartans a nice boost.  Lewis is an athletic point guard that had success early in the year before getting hurt.

Kobe Smith led all scorers with 24 points and was a difficult match up for the Coyotes.  Lee Hubbard III added 17 points, while Benjie Nudo (15), Remington Rofer (13), Dylan Cabs (11) and Lewis (10) all scored double digit points. The balanced scoring and multiple options makes the Spartans a tough match up.  Their increased commitment on the defensive end has also led to improvement on the court.

The Spartans improve their record to 12-10 heading into Wednesday's road game against Palomar College.  Tip off is scheduled for 5PM.
