In his second year as head coach Ryan Frazer is building a program that is ready to make some noise at the state level.  Including Friday's 63-55 win at Mesa College the Spartan men's basketball team is 15-10 overall and 9-4 in conference play.  The team's success has been enough to move them into the state rankings and with a few more strong showings, a berth into the CCCAA state tournament.  

On Friday MiraCosta got strong play from Dirk Helaire II (18 points & 12 rebounds), Lamont Couch Jr (17 points & 7 assists), Marcus Foster and Thomas Donati.

With the win the Spartans retain their third place position in conference moving into the final three games of the regular season.
