In the final day of the Clete Adelman Classic basketball tournament, the Spartans gave their head coach Ryan Frazer a gift, beating his former team, Antelope Valley College, by a final score of 87-83. The win improves MiraCosta's overall record to 9-8 with just one game left before starting PCAC conference play.

The Marauders from Antelope Valley kep the game close but the score was ultimately determined by some clutch 3's from Xavier Allison. Allison  had an oustanding game leading the team in points and assists, finishing with 23 points and 11 assists. The sophomore guard did not carry the team alone, he also had help from freshman Devyian Roberson contributing 18 points off the bench. Other key players were freshman Marcus Foster who scored 18 points, and leading rebounder sophomore Andrew Thomton with 11 rebounds.

The Spartans will next be action at Southwestern College on Friday January 11th at 6PM.
