The MiraCosta beach volleyball team cruised to two conference wins defeating San Diego City College 5-0 and Grossmont College 4-1. The Spartans won their first match against the Knights of San Diego City College, winning all matches in two games. In the next match, MiraCosta won the first four flights in two games, before losing the flight 5 match in three games.
Daysha Halbert and Kiara Keibel had a strong showing, giving up only 21 points total to the City 1's pair, and only 20 points to the Grossmont 1's pair. Lexi Jones and Daniela Szajkowski held the City 2's pair to a total of 19 point in two games before taking down the Grossmont 2's pair. Kate Beeze and Keira Heckel held the City 3's team to just 15 points in two games before winning a close match against a very tough Grossmont 3's pair. Gwen Mitchell and Emily Musolf held the City 4's pair to just 15 points in two games before cruising to an win against the Grossmont 4's. Alexia Bigelow and Feagaiga Naotala won by forfeit against City due to the a shortage of players. In their match against the Grossmont 5's they won the first game before dropping the next two games in narrow losses.
Overall, MiraCosta improves to 14-3 with a 5-1 record in conference play. Against community colleges the Spartans are an impressive 14-1.
