Joe Paopao is a true hometown hero whose journey from Oceanside to professional football stardom is both inspiring and exemplary. Joe Paopao began his collegiate football career at MiraCosta College, showcasing his exceptional talent as a quarterback. He then transferred to Long Beach State University, where he led the 49ers to impressive seasons and etched his name into the school's record books.
Paopao's professional career was equally remarkable. He played 11 seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the BC Lions, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Ottawa Rough Riders. Over his CFL career, he amassed 22,474 passing yards and 117 touchdowns.
