Spartan's Season Ends With Loss to El Camino

The 2018 MiraCosta women's volleyball season ended on Saturday with a loss to El Camino College in the second round of the CCCAA South Regionals.  The Spartans end their season with a final record of 22-4, a conference record of 9-1, a PCAC conference championship and a #6 seed in the CCCAA state playoffs.

Sophomore and conference MVP Halie Hess led MiraCosta with a total of 282 kills in 24 matches.  Freshman Hayley Torres finished with 225 kills and freshman Shannon Evans contributed 191.

Sophomore setter Kacy Hele finished ninth in the state with a total of 787 assists. Defensively the Spartans were anchored by freshman Hanley Lomax finishing with 343 digs and Maddy Letterman with 56 total blocks.

In just his first year leading the program, head coach Chris Muscat earned the conference Coach of the Year award.

The Spartans beach volleyball season will begin January 15th, 2019 and the first match will be February 15th, 2019.
