Spartans Sweep Mesa, Earn #6 Seed In CCCAA State Playoffs

In the second PCAC crossover match up the MiraCosta women's volleyball team won in a three game sweep against Mesa College by final scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-20.  The Spartans were led by Kacy Hele (31 assists), Halie Hess (10 kills, .381) and Hanley Lomax (11 digs).  In the dominant performance MiraCosta also received strong contributions from Shannon Evans (nine kills), Hayley Torres (seven kills and seven digs) and Leigha Malecha (six kills and four blocks).  In addition, Felicity So'oto continued to steady the defense with four digs and four assists.

The win gives the Spartans their third win over Mesa College this year and a 21-3 overall record heading into the CCCAA State Playoffs.

MiraCosta earned the #6 seed in the South and will host Moorpark College (#11, 16-5 overall) on Tuesday November 20th at 6PM.  Admission prices for this match will follow the CCCAA guidelines ($12 - General Admission, $8 - Students, Faculty, Staff and Senior Citizens, $1 - Youth Groups of Eight +, FREE - All First Responders (in honor of the work they have done recently in the California fires.)
