In their third Pacific Coast Athletic Conference game the MiraCosta women's volleyball team took the court and was dominant. Wednesday's game against College of the Desert gave MiraCosta a chance to improve to 3-0 in conference play and increase their win streak to nine in a row.  The Spartans accomplished both tasks with the help of a rowdy crowd in the gymnasium at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, California. The team, led by Coach Kristen Wright,  finished another three game sweep by final scores of 25-14, 25-21, and 25-15.  In the first game the Spartans led the whole way and never looked back.

The second game took a different story line as the visiting Road Runners took an early lead.  Despite trailing, the Spartans played focused volleyball and came back to tie the score at 15.  After leading 21-17 sophomore Reilly Bosworth went on a tear scoring the 23rd and 24th point on powerful attacks.  The second game ended on a service error by College the Desert.

In the third game the Spartans stayed consistent finishing the match with a convincing 25-10 win. Isabella Gama led the way with 32 assists and seven digs. Haile Hess was strong on the attack with 12 kills and an impressive .706 hitting efficiency. Violeti Faleumu posted yet another double double with 10 kills, 10 digs and 5 aces.  Sophomore Claire Kinder supported with nine kills and 10 digs.

The Spartans improve their record to 16-6 overall and 3-0 in conference. The Spartans take the court next on Friday October 13th at home at 6pm.  MiraCosta, the #15 ranked team in the state will play the #9 team in the state, El Camino College.
