Spartans Earn Draw With Conference Contender

After giving up an early goal to Grossmont College the MiraCosta women's soccer team refocused and found a way to even the score before the final whistle.  The game featured two of the top three teams in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, both vying for a championship and playoff berths.  Grossmont scored first and looked confident in their attack but after giving up the goal the Spartans made adjustments and held the Griffens scoreless for the remainder of the game.

MiraCosta's goal came from a big cross that Alyssa Ozuna tracked down and headed into the goal. After the equalizer the Spartans took the momentum and kept the pressure on for the latter part of the match but couldn't finish the winning goal.

Goalkeeper Mia Bochis played all 90 minutes to anchor the Spartan defense.

MiraCosta is next in action on Friday, October 18, at Southwestern College at 1PM.
