On Tuesday the MiraCosta women's soccer team hosted Southwestern College to open the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference schedule.  In what was an evenly matched game the Spartans scored first on a Nicole Sayd goal assisted by Sophie Fountain in the 32nd minute.  MiraCosta only had the momentum for a short time before the Jaguars scored in the 37th minute on a penalty kick.  The final score of the math was 1-1. With the draw MiraCosta moves to 2-1-4 overall.

The Spartans recovered after the penalty kick and found their rhythm again but couldn't score another goal to seperate them from the visitors.

Goalkeeper Mia Bochis played all 90 minutes and was a presence anchoring the defense.

MiraCosta will next be in action on Friday at San Diego City College.
