The MiraCosta women's soccer team entered Tuesday's match with College the the Desert having scored only five goals in the last seven games.  Against the Roadrunners the Spartans exploded for three goals in a dominating performance that ended in a 3-0 shutout.  With the win MiraCosta improves their conference record to 2-2 heading into the third week of conference play.

MiraCosta got on the scoreboard in the 39th minute with a Jordan Heatherly goal that was assisted by Alina Ozuna.  The Spartans took the 1-0 lead into halftime but didn't take long to extend their lead.  In the 55th minute Sophie Fountain scored MiraCosta's second goal off an assist from Bianca Gastelum.  After the second goal MiraCosta's confidence grew and their play seemed to increase to the next level.  The midfield play of Ozuna and Gastelum steadied the Spartans throughout the game which led to a multitude of scoring opportunities.

The final goal for the Spartans was an unassisted goal for Alexus Beaz-Pecoraro in the 65th minute to secure the win. MiraCosta is next in action on Friday at San Bernardino Valley College at 3PM.
