A beautiful goal by Aloni Seilor in the 70th minute was the difference for the MiraCosta women's soccer team in their 1-0 win over Taft College.  The first half of the game was played without a major advantage for either team. The Spartan defense of Kiana Daum, Jasmine Hazzard, Savannah Trevino and Morganne Kenney was solid for 90 minutes.

Alexandria Stewart and Jenna Heatherly provided some important moments of effort and toughness winning important balls against the physical Taft team.  Heatherly also added a shot on goal late in the game.

Goalkeeper Precious Garcia played 90 minutes in the shutout.

The Spartans are next in action September 15th at El Camino College.
