The women's basketball season at MiraCosta College was nothing short of historic.  For the first time in over thirty years the team earned a bid to the CCCAA State Championship tournament after finishing third in one of the most competitive conferences in the state.  The Spartans finished with an overall record of 17-9 with wins against Chabot, San Diego Mesa, San Diego City, and College of the Canyons (in the first round of the state tournament.)

The Spartans fell to LA Trade Tech College by a final score of 95-70. Leading scorers for the Spartans were Chynna Cochran (16) and Helena Betancourt (12). McKena Stoeff led MiraCosta in rebounds with seven. Julia Iman added six rebounds and a team high five assists before fouling out.

With the season ending, MiraCosta Coach Kai Harris closes the four year chapter of his time leading the program. Coach Harris has accepted the head coaching position at University of St. Katherine, a four year college in San Marcos California.
