The MiraCosta men's soccer team scored three early goals that set them up for a 3-2 win over Palomar College.  The first goal was scored at the seven minute mark by Pedro Mercado off of a pass from Jose Sanchez.  Two minutes later Andrew Kleszewski scored from an assist by Cole Simes. Finally Heron Martinez scored in the 19th minute with the assist going to Fernando Martinez to make the score 3-0. The Spartans held the three goal lead and momentum for most of the first half before giving up a penalty kick to the Comets in the 43rd minute.

The Spartans continued to keep possession and control the flow of the game with the 3-1 lead until a Palomar player got loose in the 85th minute to get them within one goal of a tie.

When the final whistle blew MiraCosta was on top and earned the victory.  With the win the Spartans improve to 5-3-6 and are just one point shy of 3rd place in the conference standings.
