Franco Goal Leads Spartans to 3rd Consecutive Win

Wilver Crespo dribbles the soccer ball.

With a 1-0 final score the MiraCosta men's soccer team defeated San Diego Mesa College, winning their third game in a row and their fourth in five games.  The Spartans hot streak pushes them into fourth place in the conference standings with three games left to play.

The lone goal was scored by forward Eddie Franco on a header from a ball crossed by Jacbo Harris.  MiraCosta controlled possession of the ball for a majority of the game but also had more shots than the visiting Olympians. The defense was anchored by Manuel Kariuki, Wilver Crespo, Scott Jones and goalkeepers Andrew Clayton and Adrian Valencia.

MiraCosta sits just two points out of third place with a bye next week on Tuesday and then travels to Cuyamaca for a game on Friday at 3PM.
