Men's Soccer Team Picture

In the second half of the conference season the Spartan men's soccer team has been very tough to beat.  With a 3-1 record in their last four games and a 2-0 shutout victory tpday against their cross town rival, MiraCosta has cleary figured out how to win.

The Spartans took on the Palomar Comets and although each team had an array of offensive opportunities it was a 0-0 score at halftime.  After Coach Frank Zimmerman made his adjustments at halftime the MiraCosta scored two goals, in the 49th and 62nd minute.  The first goal was scored by sophomore Rafael Carneiro, assisted by Carlos Castro.  The second goal, scored by defender Manuel Kariuki, was assisted by Anthony Cruz.

The shut out was shared by goalkeepers Andrew Clayton (3 saves) and Adrian Valencia (1 save).

MiraCosta will next be in action on Friday at home. Kickoff will be at 1PM against Mesa College.
